PHRASAL VERBS

Some phrasal verbs:





catch up ( + with)- to from behind and reach the same level as someone who is ahead of you:


Can't you drive any faster? He is catching up with us.





go over - to look at or check something very carefully:


The police went over my statement very carefully.


Also go through:





I searched my flat and went through all my pockets but I coundn't find the keys anywhere.





hand in ( + to)- to give something to a person in authority, e.g. an official or teacher:





Hand your papers in at the end of the exam.





Lag behind- to move or develop more slowly than others:





Our social reforms are still lagging behind other countries.
